COURSE DESCRIPTION

This law and ethics course provides therapists with essential information to understand and fulfill their legal and professional responsibilities related to licensure and public safety. The content specifically covers Florida massage therapy laws and associated ethical considerations, along with general professional ethics. The law discussion emphasizes the Florida massage therapy statutes, including Chapter 480, Rules 64B7, and Chapter 456.

Participants will learn about the laws governing Florida massage licensure, how to compare and apply their understanding of board laws and rules to current business practices, and will participate in discussions on topics such as sexual and other forms of misconduct, related penalties, inactive status, renewals, regulations for massage therapists in the armed forces, disciplinary actions, fee schedules, and licensure renewal for both therapists and establishments. There were numerous changes to the massage statutes during this renewal cycle for FL LMTs. It was a very confusing time. Also, in what courses would satisfy live hours, and new rules on fingerprinting. Thank you for making this course easy to understand on all accounts.
