COURSE DESCRIPTION
Transform your practice and make a significant impact on the lives of your clients through this valuable course focused on spinal curvatures. Topics covered include Scoliosis, Kyphosis, and Lordosis. Each topic begins with fundamental definitions, causes, and symptoms, leading to a deeper understanding of the subject. Substantiate your work through scientific studies, in addition to SOM’s collaboration with leading experts in scoliosis. The twelve hours are divided into four video modules (each three hours), complemented by periodic reviews. It entails some ancillary video viewing and demonstrations of SOM Therapy techniques. Renowned guest speakers from SOM Therapy seminars enrich and diversify the educational experience.
Scoliosis is frequently misinterpreted as solely a postural defect or injury. A thorough understanding that scoliosis requires a nuanced approach is vital for delivering effective client care. The program is intentionally designed to equip massage therapists with the insights and practical tools necessary to provide pain alleviation and rehabilitative support for clients facing these conditions. It gives guidance on applying massage therapy as an independent treatment for non-structural curves, integrating your expertise with non-surgical scoliosis specialists for more severe cases, and safely managing pre- and post-operative clients, all while maintaining the professional boundaries inherent to massage therapy.
GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPATION IN THIS COURSE: This is a pre-recorded webinar. Participants will watch four PowerPoint video lectures, which occasionally direct viewers to supplementary videos relevant to the lesson. Upon completion, an exam will be administered. The platform permits five attempts to achieve a passing score of at least 70%. Upon successful completion, a certificate is issued and is also available for download from your profile at any time.
BONUS AND MORE ABOUT TESTING: An Abridged Copy of the course is available for free download for your professional library or for reference purposes. A preview download of the exam is also available before the course begins, allowing students to print a copy and keep it handy while viewing the course. Simply mark your answers as you go, and when it is time to test, copy them into the final exam. Or go straight to the test after watching all four videos—it’s your choice! Note that when you are ready to be graded, your test must be completed as a single, continuous test; it cannot be submitted in parts.
