Course Description: This one-hour home study program is a useful resource for those meeting CE requirements on the topic of Human Trafficking. If your state board does not require this topic, you can still use it for general hours. This was our first course on this important subject, initially recognized only by the FL BOM. Shortly after, the NCBTMB accepted this topic for CE credits. To satisfy a larger audience, we offer more courses titled “Human Trafficking in the Massage Therapy Field,” which come in 1, 2, 3, and 4-hour formats.

No LMT likes the idea that a fake massage business exists where they work or live. Few consider or know that the people working there are coerced and forced into modern-day slavery and wish they had a way out. Who would have thought that health care professionals would play a role? This course discusses need-to-know information about human trafficking, its effects on the massage profession, and how to make positive changes—also, defining and identifying victims and fake massage businesses, recognizing traffickers and their methods, differentiating between types of human trafficking, where to get help, knowing limits in helping, and more.
