Because we are approved providers through NCBTMB, we are required to share certain information with you about ourselves, such as: who we are, how long we’ve been in business, where and what we’ve taught and the type of professionals you might see sitting next to you in our seminars or who are also purchasing similar home studies. The following is a brief representation of these categories.Â
Regarding the Florida 2023-2025 renewal deadline specific to “live classroom hours:” Florida CE anytime-hours courses that were approved as live hours during the 2023-2025 renewal cycle (such as home studies or webinar-type formats) were automatically discontinued by CE Broker on August 31, 2025 11:59 PM, without possibility for late completions, as per the Florida Board of Massage Therapy instructions. If you were late renewing, you will need to take a currently approved in-person course to complete the live portion of your 2023-2025 FL CE requirements.
Regarding the Florida 2025-2027 renewal deadline specific to “live classroom hours:” All courses in this subject area must be offered in person with hands-on classroom instruction. In other words, webinars, pre-recorded webinars, distance-learning, and home studies are not accepted as “LIVE HOURS” by the Florida Board of Massage Therapy. However, you can use our pre-recorded webinars and home studies to complete your NCBTMB renewal.
SOM Therapy reports completed CE credits to CE Broker within 24 hours of course completion and passing.
Professionals from varied healthcare fields attend SOM continuing education seminars: massage therapists, physical therapists, nurses, exercise physiologists, chiropractors, mental healthcare professionals, and those in general and specialized medicine.Â
This provider is guided by the state and national massage rules and laws but considers full attendance to be a requisite for full CE credit. If a therapist arrives late or leaves early or misses any time during the presentation, that time will be removed from the credit given at the end of the seminar. (Unless stated differently by your state board; it may be possible that a state has an all or nothing policy).
For states accepting partial CE credits, such as attending just six hours of a 12-hr seminar or missing time during the presentation, reported hours are adjusted accordingly.
There is no make-up time for missing seminar hours.
Therapists signing up for seminars that have FREE home studies promoted within a seminar product must be paid in full and attend the seminar to receive CE credits for the FREE home study portion.
In seminars, we address visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning needs. With home studies, therapists participate through visual, and depending on the course, through auditory and kinesthetic methods.Â
SOM uses medical publications, scientific studies, conferences, periodicals, world/local news, documentaries, various media programs, in-person interviews, local/overseas clinical and other associated work/teaching, Internet research, public research, and from over 50 years of field experience.
Yes. There is an evaluation page offered upon test completion with a space to add whatever additional comments you wish to describe your course experience. For adding in comments, consider the following: mention your favorite part of the course, if the course met your needs and expectations, if the material learned will enhance your career or benefit your clients in specific ways, and would you recommend this company to other therapists?
When you purchase a seminar, your name will be added to the selected seminar’s attendance list that is privately kept by the CE Provider. If someone else purchases your seminar, your name and license # must be entered to receive a correct certificate at the end of the class.
A downloadable class itinerary with instructions is provided on your course/seminar page along with any handouts for the class.
You may take the test up to five times at no extra charge.
Upon grading, follow the prompts to view missed questions.
We report credits to Louisiana State Board and to CE Broker.
Courses are organized using section or chapter bars labeled as Section or Chapter 1, 2, 3, and so on. The test is indicated by a dedicated section bar located at the bottom of the course section bars. To test, simply click on "Take or Begin Test" and begin answering the questions.
No, we no longer have a mandatory time limit for testing. Still, completing the course within 90 days of purchase is always best, or at least before the end of your renewal cycle. Waiting longer could cause forfeiture due to course discontinuation. There may be more fees associated with additional assistance due to course or state board updates. If a course is discontinued or a board does not approve it on the following renewal cycle, you will be unable to retake the test.
The CE certificate is offered upon passing the course. You can also log in to your account to retrieve it at any time upon completion.
YES. Home study courses are read online. A free downloadable abridged course copy is available on the course page for your massage library, along with a preview of test questions to print and use while reading online, to check answers and copy into the final test.
Some courses are more comprehensive than others. The most comprehensive courses are Spinal Curvatures and Vibration Therapy. If you read the material thoroughly from start to finish, staying focused and not rushing or skipping parts, the test won't seem difficult. Please keep in mind that an effective learning experience generally includes a certain degree of difficulty. Selecting a course that presents an appropriate challenge is commendable and a source of pride upon completion.
Since we are out-of-town for much of our work, office hours are irregular. Please E-mail us at: ceu@somtherapy.com or call 561-846-9717 with questions or concerns. TEXTING SHOULD BE USED FOR EMERGENCIES or URGENT matters due to the high volume of people we service. E-mails are best. They provide a documentable reference for requests and replies. Include your full name, state/professional license number (including any letters), and phone number with area code. Let us know the best time for a callback.  Â
There are no refunds on home studies. PLEASE SEE OUR POLICY PAGE.
The CE certificate is offered upon passing the course. You can also log in to your account to retrieve it at any time upon completion.
When purchasing an SOM Therapy CE course from the CE Broker website, you will need to contact them with questions about your purchase. We are two different companies, our website works differently than theirs. You cannot take a test on our website for a course you purchased on CE Broker. You cannot read your course on our website if it was purchase from the CE Broker website. If you have a problem getting into the course you purchased on the CE Broker website, please contact them for instructions at cebroker.com.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. We do not accept American Express. Our site is set up to accept payments by someone else – so for example, a relative may pay for your class. Just set the “Billing Information” section on the registration form to their contact information. THE “Student Information” will be yours. It is best if you can sit with them while you make the purchase, because when you pay for the class, you will need to provide all of your contact information as well as your license number so that the class is in your name and not theirs.
